A Memory of a Home-Cooked Meal
Summertime as a child on my parent's wooden deck. Dad at the grill, mom going in and out of the sliding kitchen doors with plates of bread, nibbles and goodness, my brother down below playing basketball, the scent of fresh cut grass all around us. My eyes slightly burning but well worth the smells that always seems to waft right to my spot at the table. There weren't too many things I loved more than eating outside on that deck in the Summer.

Frankies pasta party was of the hook! Good food, good wine and good peops! Frankie is an awesome host that makes evry man, woman and child feel welcome, plus feeds you tasty treats! Doesn't get any better than that!

Frankie is such a sweet and friendly host that it's a pleasure being at his table, tasting his delicious food. He gathers different cool people under the same roof, and when you have good food and good company, you couldn't ask any better ;) Since we share the same idea of what cooking should actually do to people, we may be able to cook together for an actual Italian dinner :D

Review of Korean BBQ
1) The Environment: Amazingly cool loft space (there was a wall-to-ceiling blackboard and skateboard swing) full of sweet and engaging people. One of the loftmates gave us a tour into the multi-level area and it made my place look like a closet. 2) Food: We all sat at a long table while the guest chef cooked the Korean BBQ right in front of us on a grill. The smells were everywhere and it smelled good!!! Absolutely delicious - a few different kinds of meat and just on-point marinades. 3) Conversation: Most of the group seemed young and well-traveled. I actually found out I had studied abroad and lived in the SAME BUILDING as one of the other loftmates. Crazy!!! It was fun to talk about traveling and mealsharing with the other people. Always nice to have good conversation over hot food with warm strangers :)

These guys! They have such welcoming energy, and really put a lot of effort in making everybody feel as if we were guests in a palace. But informal, chilled and super friendly. I love the thing that they have going on of having travelers staying continuously in the apartment. I would totally do the same. I'll see you very soon F&K!

There was plenty of food, more than enough to feed everybody, and very fun and interesting people and travellers around the table - Kathy and Frankie were incredibly hospitable and open people, so in total we had a wonderful night in their awesome warehouse apartment. And oh, the lasagna was amazing!

Love these guys. They're smart and funny and have a little edge to them in the best way possible. And they're just really sweet people. I love their loft space and the project they're working on. I will buy one for my bike once it's available for sure :) Look forward to having another meal with them soon!

Kathy & Frankie are some of the warmest, most welcoming people I've ever met. They instantly make you feel at home in their amazing loft, and are so considerate of their guests. The loft is pretty fantastic, and customized in such creative ways. Frankie studied culinary, so I can't wait to be back for the food!
