Jay and I had such a great time Mealsharing with Retta and her friends and family. Their home is a tucked away in a beautiful wooded hillside and bursting with art and music. The moment we arrived we were greeted by Oz and their dog Gracie :) Retta and Oz had invited their son, niece and a few friends to join for the meal; all of whom were super open minded, friendly and welcoming. On the patio, encompassed by trees, we chilled, chatted and ate the most amazing paella. Then, we segued into what became the music portion of the evening; a series of spontaneous jam sessions. Oswald (their son) pulled out his upright bass, Jay grabbed his guitar and we all just played music, listened and sang until night had fallen. What a memorable evening :) If you find yourself in Kansas, request a meal with Retta and co. You'll be filled up with great food, and washed over with creative spirits

Retta and her friends/family are so welcoming! A friend and I stopped at their lovely countryside home while traveling to Lawrence, KS. We instantly felt at home the moment we arrived at Retta and Oz's home. They had prepared a delicious paella dish to share with us and their friends they had invited out for the meal share. We ate outside on the patio that overlooked the city. One of the highlights of the evening was playing music with her son Oswald. Let's just say that creativity runs in their family. Retta is a very talented artist and she showed us some of her really amazing ceramics work. Then Oz jammed out on the piano for us. Meal Share with Retta and family if you get the chance. One of the most memorable meals I have ever had :)
