About Me
Traveling is one of my biggest passions. I believe that the best souvenir from a different place is a local recipe- that way you will always have that place with you. I enjoy learning different languages and I have realized that the best way to learn something about a culture is through its language and its food.
Why I Share Meals
Meet new people, taste different kinds of food, and share life experiences.
Places I’ve Traveled
I make it a goal to travel every year. One of my favorite cities is Cambodia. I have never tried Khmer food before but it opened my eyes to how good seafood actually is when it is fresh. Now, I consider amok to be one of my favorite spices. Having sushi for breakfast at the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo right after the auctions, buying fresh-squeezed pomegranate juice at Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul, pintxos and a glass of txacoli de Getaria for lunch at San Sebastian...
What I Read, Watch, and Listen To
Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Penny Dreadful, The Piano Guys, War and Peace, The Name of the Rose, Nana, The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zöet, Les Miserables, The Little Prince, Perfume, Vanity Fair, The Silmarillion, The Shadow of the Wind, Drops of God
A Memory of a Home-Cooked Meal
We were staying in Shunko-in Temple at Kyoto The priest recommended a restaurant called Kitchen Raku-raku right by the temple. Little did I know that it wasn't a restaurant but some guy's kitchen! Not only was it my first time eating fugu, it was also my first time having a home-cooked meal outside my own home. It was the best Japanese food I have ever had and better yet, we made a new friend.

Krishna was a pleasure to host! This was my first meal with Krishna and she was very kind and generous. She has such a lovely spirit about her and a bubbly personality and we had fun chatting over dinner and playing a game of Foodie Fight. I look forward to hosting her again in the future and, hopefully, trying some of her food as well!

Well, Mendelssohn got rained out at Millenium Park, but all was not lost. Krishna graciously invited us to her home to enjoy the music (and a spectacular video show) while we ate the delicious food she had prepared. Thank you so much, Krishna, for specially making some of the onigiri vegetarian for me!

This was my first experience with meal sharing and I couldn't have had a better introduction! Krishna was an amazing host and conversationalist. Her Japanese brunch was inspired by a trip she took to the Hakone region of Japan and I loved talking with her about her experience there.

As a Guest at Twisted Traditionals
Krishna was such a pleasure to host. She was probably more excited to eat what I made than I was to serve it- and that's the best kind of guest to have! Lots of fun, lively conversation and a genuinely sweet girl. Can't wait to see her again!

What's there to say about Krishna that has not already been said? She is a spectacular hostess, without a doubt. Her Scandinavian dinner was delicious (and beautiful), her place is beyond charming, and she some how managed to put it all together in a way that appeared effortless! What a comfortable and lovely person to talk to. I definitely look forward to sharing more meals with her in the future :-)

Krishna is awesome, we all know this. Such a pleasure to have her over for dinner, so incredibly happy she came. Her passion and love for good food and great people is extraordinary. I'm just blessed to have met Krishna and to have shared countless stories and laughs with her, and many more to come. She's a must have at any meal for sure and if she hosts or signs up for a dinner, you should probably do the same.

Krishna was a lovely host and I was thrilled to return the favor and have her as a guest for vegan mac and cheese - she was a lovely guest, bringing wine to share with everyone as well as bringing lovely cheer and great conversation to the group. :)

OMGoodness, this was a totally awesome meal at Krishna's place! It was a Japanese brunch. I don't usually like brunch style food because it tends to be too heavy and sweet, but all the items served were perfect - filling but not too much so. And such variety! Noodles, miso soup, porridge with egg and salmon, with coffee jello as the grand finale! And Krishna is totally sweet - engaging and sharing her stories about international travel. Thanks for being a great hostess, Krishna! I'm looking forward to your future meal creations!

I had a great time at Krishna's Hakone inspired Japanese brunch ... what a great way to start off the day!! Krishna was super sweet, very easy to talk to and I enjoyed getting to know her and the other meal share guests who joined today. It was good fun talking about our travels, careers and how everyone got connected with meal sharing. :) Krishna's Japanese cooking was amazing -- tasty & filling! I enjoyed trying the (new-to-me) flavor combinations like the rice porridge with egg (delish & healthy!) and coffee jelly dessert (yum!).

I had a great time at Bruce's French Night mealshare and so happy to meet Krishna! She is a vibrant, well traveled young woman with great stories and grasp of history and culture! She loves to host and I'm sure her mealshares are amazing and I hope I can get to one and see her again. Most in this group knew each other and were veteran mealsharers but everyone was warm and welcoming. Theo had us all reeling with laughs; great time and great meal!

I think it's fair to say the brunch was a smashing success. The menu and season provided a wonderful sense of occasion. Krishna is a marvelous host, with an almost serendipitous knack for knowing when her guest want or need something. Her place is warm and inviting and has the kind of bespoke charm that can be only be afforded by such a person. My only regret was that I was not able to help more than I am accustomed to with such a large endeavor. This experience is truly like eating at a friend's house.

It was a wonderful evening, the meal, the location, the weather, the music and the company. It was Krishna's first time hosting, had I not been privy to that information I would have thought that she had been hosting for years. Everything was precise, exquisite and delicious. To top it off, Krishna is a truly warm, fun and interesting person to spend time with!

Krishna's first mealshare was a tremendous success! Beautiful evening at Millennium Park concert, outstanding homemade Japanese rice balls, pickled vegetables, seaweed wraps.. Outdoor dining at its finest. I'm pretty sure I saw looks of envy from some of the surrounding concert-goers. Oh, and flan! Anyway, Krishna is a fantastic host and lovely dining companion. I'm very happy she is in our community.
