This was one of the best gastronomic experiences we had on trips around the world. The food and drinks (including beer and a locally produced whiskey) were excellent, and the family was very friendly. It was wonderful to experience more about the Iceland culture.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) had a great evening. The food and drink were wonderful and we enjoyed the hospitality of David and his family.

Our group of three had a fantastic evening with David and his family! They were so warm and welcoming from the first moment. Our visit started with a tasting of David's home-brewed beers... lots of variety and delicious! Local cheeses were served next, so good! After some lovely conversation with David and Eve about life, work (including Eve's fascinating work as a distillery manager) and Iceland in general we sat down to a scrumptious dinner. On the menu were salad, roasted vegetables, lamb and for me, a delicious vegetarian nut loaf. For dessert we had the most amazing home-made sticky toffee pudding with whipped cream. Finally, Eve presented a tasting of some of her distillery's creations. The whole evening could not have been better. We were embarking on a 10-day journey all over the country so David and Eve offered some advice about places to visit. I enthusiastically recommend a dinner with David and Eve.

We had a wonderful dinner with David and his family. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in the door. I got a tour of the house from his youngest daughter! We started our dinner with an appetizer of traditional Christmas bread cooked in sheep fat and halloumi cheese. The bread is a labor of love and is really delicious. Next, our main dinner consisted of traditional Icelandic lamb that was succulent, a nut roast for my vegetarian husband, a fresh green salad, potatoes, and mushroom cheese. Throughout the dinner we were served microbrewery beer that his wife, Eva, brews herself. What an added treat! By far the best part of the meal was dessert. David made sticky toffee pudding with fresh whip cream and caramel sauce. I'm sure we would have eaten the whole cake if we sat at the table long enough! We had wonderful conversation and learned a lot about Iceland from them. I would highly recommend David's dinner experience.

David and his lovely family hosted such a fantastic meal. I haven't been this well fed in such a long time! I only remembered to take pictures at the end for the desserts! The lamb was cook perfectly and dessert was a perfect ending! Home brewed beers were plentiful and all tasted great! I was so grateful for the good company during my first night in Reykjavik! Thanks to David, Eva and his adorable kids!

Really great experience; David and Eve are great hosts - great food and conversation. We learned a lot about Iceland and the people and gin. We would go again the next time we get to Reykjavík. Thanks, Damian

Our meal was delicious. David and Eva (along with their three children) welcomed us with appetizers and homemade beer. The dinner was exceptional, and the hosts closed the evening with a sampling of whiskey and gin. Thank you for the great evening!

We had lovely evening and delicious meal with David and his family. Also their cute children welcomed our son nicely and they played together without common language. Homemade beer with tender lamb and Islandic whiskey with dessert cake were complementing the meal together with alot information about how to make gin and whiskey. We'll recommend!

If you are lucky enough to make it to Reykjavik I urge you to go to a mealshare at Davio's house. The meal they made was the best we had in Iceland. The lamb was tender, the potatoes were great. They had fresh mushrooms with a mushroom cream sauce. The star of the meal was the whiskey cake Davio's wife made with home made whipped cream and whiskey from his wife's company, Floki poured all over it. Davio makes home brewed beer and each one was better that the last. They are lovely people and their children are adorable. It was a great night. We ate and drank to our heart's content. Thanks again for your hospitality. Hope you have fun in NYC. I posted the pics on the mealsharing FB page!
