About Me
Early Years: Born September 22, 1970, in Manila, Philippines, entrepreneur George Dante M Pineda first learned to cook as a teenager under the guidance of his mother and aunts. "My mom and my aunt Neneng and Uding are great cooks. They all taught me to make simple but delicious filipino food growing up”. In 1991, I came to USA to pursue one of my many dreams. One of which is to create food that is tasteful and food that looks appealing to those who will eat them. Ten years ago, I met Andy and his family (Apple Villa Pancakes Restaurant) and partnered in cultivating my culinary interest. In the Summer of 2012, I decided to enroll to culinary school in Chicago to learn the basics of food preparation, safety in handling food and of course to learn how to cook and enrich my creativity on how food presentation is done. Today, I often travel around the world and experience many food cultures in various countries, cities and locals — I often take advantage when visiting and try as many local restaurants as possible during these trips. With such great opportunity, I have learned so many aspects in food preparation, presentations and all stories behind the food I eat. Thank you mealsharing.com for letting me share these experiences to others! This site gave me the avenue to explore my creativity through cooking, share what I have learned from various cuisines and meet new friends along the way! With the same mission, I would like to give back to my community and bring them together though what I cook for healthier lifestyle! Dig-in with Chef Dante

What a fantastic time! Chef Dante is so fun to be around, the food was incredible, and I had a great time meeting new friends over glazed bacon and luxurious french toast. Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

George is an incredibly generous host and the food was outstanding. This was an actual House Warming party with all his friends and family and he was kind enough to open it to MealShare guests. The quality, quantity and variety of dishes was amazing and the party demonstrated true hospitality.

Met a lot of great people and George prepared so much food! There was much more food than what he listed that he'd make, and I want to give a big hug to his mum who helped prepare the food! My favorite was one of the appetizers, the bacon dates and chorizo!

I think I'm too full to write a proper review. Because after eating the delicious candied bacon, the scrumptious breakfast casserole, and the absolutely decadent chocolate and raspberry and powdered sugar-covered French toast...I was full. And then George informed us that those were simply the appetizers. WTH? He then proceeded to dish up a fantastic cheesy (more cheese? Yes, please! Be quiet, Cathy!) chicken/veggie pasta. And THEN there was dessert. A Dutch baby- style pancake. Seriously good eating. Tremendously great time with the other guests, and of course George, who is an outstandingly fun and kind host. I'm really happy we got to go!

George is generous host, a phenomenal chef, and an amazing person. I absolutely loved his Easter Brunch; the French Toast was decadent and aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast casserole and pesto pasta were flavorful and the honey glazed bacon changed my life. George I cannot wait to dine with you again and share some more cooking secrets.

As a Guest at POTLUCK 2015/UN
Chef Dante came over for the fundraiser potluck. He made Pork Belly with red onion and it was just so delicious. He is really fun to be around. I heard a lot about him and I felt honored when he signed up for my meal. He also ordered Christmas cookies I baked for the orphanage, thanks George for your open heart. I am looking forward to share more meals with you in 2016.

Brunch with Chef Dante was great - you wouldn't have thought that George was in the ER a few hours before. It was wonderful to see his friends and fellow mealsharing participants help prep and cook with him to get it all ready in time for all of us to show up. The food was great - the pasta was outstanding; the people were fun; I ate and drank more than I should have. I can't wait to go to another event hosted by George.

I messaged Chef Dante when the reservations had already been closed, as I could not afford to miss out; and he ,more than graciously, accommodated me! Chef, thank you for welcoming us into your home, for being an exceptional host and great company! Truly appreciated!

Oh, Chef Dante! The beauty of your heart is plain to see. Is there any other joy like seeing someone live straight from the heart? Your warmth is contagious-just what we needed to enjoy a cold winter day...in June :) You are a lovely person and your food was perfect!

This will likely be THE best brunch experience of my life. I'm seriously blown away by how gracious George was as a host, and the amazing food he provided for me and the other guests. This meal share initially started as a request from my roommate who wanted to surprise me with the meal we'd been talking about for weeks. I'm told George gave a slew of options as to how the brunch would be hosted, and I'm glad Phil requested open enrollment for whoever wanted to come. I cannot thank you, and everyone who attended enough for making this birthday an extra special one in my heart. As always, I'm eagerly looking forward to my next meal share opportunity and am stoked to have met so many members of the community though this brunch.

This is my second meal share at Chef Dante's home and it (as expected!) was excellent! His food was simply deeeeeeee-lish! The french toast cupcake and the pasta dish were my favorites. The atmosphere was inviting & friendly and I had a great time talking to a variety of interesting people. Chef Dante is a gracious and generous host who served us an overwhelming quantity of tasty food … (I still feel stuffed!) I'll for sure continue to attend any of Chef Dante's meal shares! (sounds like he's got some fun meal share ideas :) for summer too…. can't wait!)

Chef Dante warmly welcomes guests into his gorgeous home with plenty of food and hospitality to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves. And, despite having been on the injured list, he and his team of volunteer sous chefs expertly executed the delicious brunch menu of French toast cupcakes and several casseroles, down to the decor/party room setup. Thanks for the great food, great location and great company.

Chef Dante and Dustin are great hosts! Their beautiful condo overlooks downtown Chicago from above. The view is spectacular. From the balcony you can see the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier and the bustling downtown streets. The dinner was as pleasant as the view. Chef Dante definitely knows what he is doing, yet he is very humble. The dishes were well executed, both in terms of flavor and presentation. The lamb stew was done to perfection, falling-off-the bone tender. With the sweetness from the tomato based sauce, the first bite almost made me cry out with joy. The other items on the menu were very sophisticated in the flavor as well and I mean it in a good way. Chef Dante did a great job! And I love it when we took mealshare selfies with the selfy-stick at the end of the meal. It was a great evening! Thank you Chef Dante and Dustin!

I was so happy to get a seat at George Dante's Easter Dinner tonight. We all had a wonderful time with him and his partner, Dustin. The food was outstanding, more than I could possibly eat. The starter dishes of scotch egg and some kind of dish with brussel sprouts, bacon, onions, dates, Chinese chorizo? were absolutely fantastic. That was before the mason jar salad came out, followed by the main course of a terrific stewed lamb over noodles. Thank goodness the Dutch baby pancake dessert took some time to finish baking, because my stomach needed the rest. As good as the food was, the part that always makes a mealshare a mealshare is the company, and George and Dustin are excellent company. We all had some good laughs, found out about each others' histories and such, and just really enjoyed being with one another for a few hours. Can't wait to see George and Dustin again in the future at another mealshare.

What a fantastic Easter dinner. Dante is an amazing chef. The lamb was some of the best I have tasted in a long time. I'm definitely going to start making salad in a jar. He and his partner Dustin are so much fun. Their condo is so beautiful, the views are amazing! I can't wait to meal share with them again. Thanks so much! I am soo full.

Thank you Chef Dante and Dustin for having me over to your fantastic brunch! The food was absolutely delicious, and I was impressed with the complexity of flavor, the thoughtfulness put into each dish, and your artistic touch! Five Stars! Thank you both! I look forward to seeing you again and sharing another meal together!

I had such a great time at Chef Dante's & Dustin’s brunch meal share! To start with, the view from their place is jaw dropping … (and I’m secretly hoping they host again on a Wed or Sat night sometime when Navy Pier fire works are scheduled) :):) Both guys were both so friendly and easy to talk to .. And a riot! I could not stop laughing after Chef Dante told us his Lala train story and Dustin cracked me up over and over with his commentary. Both of them are such positive and genuine people and I’m happy to have had the opportunity to get to know them better at their first meal share. And the meal … well, it was A--MAZ-ING! Chef Dante was so gracious and generous as he served us “a little bit” ;) And, we all could easily see that he put so much thought and effort into preparing what was not only a tasty meal, but a beautiful meal… one you’d see photographed in a food magazine! Everything was delicious and I particularly enjoyed the honey glazed garlic onion bacon with a side of rice (that was topped with fancy micro greens & truffle salt). It was divine. (see glorious photo below) Overall, I would absolutely sign up for Chef Dante’s meal shares in future! The interesting and varied conversation, boat load of laugher, city living ambiance and the scrumptious meal all was a 10 out 10 in my book. I hope to see these great guys again very soon, either hosting or at future meals!

He and Dustin were wonderful hosts who have done so much and are into so many different things. What a wealth of knowledge that these 2 have! There was constant laughter going on along with funny stories from everyone present - I'm so happy to have been a part of this fun event!
