Interesting fact about me
My desk is stocked with more condiments than office supplies
I've always been interested in cooking, but really began to use it as an outlet for creativity while working a very busy job (a girl still needs to eat!). My favorite things about meals is how they bring people together and can be an opportunity to try new things. I love to travel, and have found food to be a universal experience, no matter the country. I like to take inspiration from my journeys. I've been hosting forever, but started Mealsharing this past year. I recently relocated to Denver, and am excited about getting to meet and host new people here! My auto-focus camera is also the bane of my existence, so please forgive the photography :-)
Why I Share Meals
New people, new experiences, and good eating
Places I’ve Traveled
I've traveled to Africa (Kenya & Tanzania), Thailand, Costa Rica and Ireland; am hoping to go to South America soon.
What I Read, Watch, and Listen To
The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul, The Wire, Orange is the New Black, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Jane the Virgin (anything with grit, action and drama, or alternatively upbeat and funny). Spoon, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Arctic Monkeys, Alabama Shakes, the Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Foster the People, Bob Seger, Cream, The Doors, Santigold, Janelle Monae, Lana Del Ray
A Memory of a Home-Cooked Meal
Breakfast with my grandpa was always a real treat. He made the world's best pancakes (which is saying something because I was always a french toast fan), and the most delicious strawberry jam. I've spent a good amount of time trying to recreate it.

What my meals are like
My meals range from the in-depth to the simple; I believe taste trumps plating, though I've been working on the latter. I enjoy cooking a variety of styles, including: Thai, Italian, Mexican, French, and American/Southern. I like to fuse different genres to create new perspective. I've taken up canning and preserving, so I try to keep everything homemade.
Who You Might Meet at My Table
Friends, family and neighbors. My place is cat/dog free, though the plants have personality.
Where my meals happen
I have a large open concept space that works great for conversation (and observation if you like to catch out the cooking action). During warm weather, I have a large outdoor table and patio.
